New Music Monday: RM3 Selections

This is digital ear candy without the live performance. Treats that meet the ears oozing with tantalizing tones, harmonies and melodies for your listening enjoyment.

This week we tune to the ears of Kendrick “RM3” Washington aka Uncle Kenny, owner of RM3 productions and executive in the game for over 10 years, curating and promoting events. He works also works closely with Black Kings Entertainment, The Face Entertainment and It’s Gorgeous Musique. Check his selections below.

“NIFF is definitely lyrical on that song. I like that song specifically because of how he shows his lyricism, his creativity, and his flow pattern. We have plenty of conversations with him and he’s very intellectual with his conversations, and that transcribes in his writing on that song. I really rock with it. And Tray Cal actually balances it out, you know, being a feature on a song with an artist such as, you know, such as Niff and and still balancing out with the bars, and balancing out with the overall completion of the song, you know, still being able to meet him metaphorically, bring things together um from verse to verse and and uh hook to hook.” – Uncle Kenny

“So Lowdy Trail, he’s also a unique artist in his writing capability. Really showing, you know, not as much of thegun bars, but more of an unique original hip-hop underground sound. He coming with different schemes and patterns of and flows throughout that song and really giving you a different enlightening. Especially in today’s time an enlightening thought of the bars and the music and how he’s piecing together the song as a whole. So, I feel like that’s that original hip-hop type vibe that I really like about that song.” – Uncle Kenny

“Ave (Grim) is painting a picture in this song. I got a sneak peek of the song very early before he released it. And when he was showing me all the songs, this is the first one that popped out. Just how he started the song with the hook, you know, like it really came in powerful. I’m seeing like he’s talking about a female like I need somebody to hold me down, you know, when when it gets hectic, when it gets tough and me going through a relationship at the time, I’m like, dang, I need that, too. This is the the type of song giving me something to think about? And as a consumer, I feel like that’s that’s big.” – Uncle Kenny

“My main goal and my focus has always been to help facilitate the community and the the scene out here. In the entertainment, man. So, you know, we focus long and hard on really building up out here on the promotion side, having outlets for artists to get on bigger stages, do more with their music, in with different aspects and networks”

Washington continued on about the business, “On the other side, on the music side, Come tap in with me [artists] because I’m showing you know giving the opportunity for the world to hear you. I actually rock with artists. Actually I would love to hear everybody ‘s music, you know? I would love to hear their music to really push the dream. I know how it is when it’s your an artist and you feel like somebody’s got to hear this.”

“So actually Ty actually surprised me with this song. He was telling me how he’s new into the music, you know? Taking it more serious. He’s like, ‘Yeah, so I got this feature with Kayla Rae.’ I said, “Kayla Rae?” And he was really creative with this one, like the approach. And then, you know, Kayla came on and did her sauce and it’s a catchy song. It’s a catchy sound and just like the flow throughout on his part. Also, I got to see the video ahead of time and kind of seeing him, and his personality because he wears a mask. And his personality, and the video, I kind of like what how he was approaching it, from the cover art and everything. I got to see it all kind of like come to life and it was really dope to see that.” – Uncle Kenny
 

“Brvsco Xiii. Yeah, 4play. That’s my Dallas dog, man. Actually came across his music searching and fo4play stood out after hearing the first couple songs. I got a chance to listen to his music when I had went out on tour in Dallas and he was like come to the car real quick. I believe 4play was actually one of one of the ones that I actually heard in the car. He just showed me a variety of music. And I love R&B to the point to where I waslike ‘Damn Bro.’ I said, “You got a different type. It’s not like the newer contemporary, but you’re trying to bring back like one of them sounds that I grew up on.” – Uncle Kenny

Ontoneyo: He kind of sounds like The Dream.

Uncle Kenny: “And see that’s what I was saying but I know he has more of that sound. But where he’s going, he’s going on that level, yes. More of the Dream on the mixtapes, Dream. Not really album Dream, like some s***! Not the s*** that is mainstream; it’s like something you got to find. That’s why I like 4play. His melodies throughout that are very consistent. You know what I’m saying? He’s trying to be seductive in that aspect of the woman. Like, I’m trying to give you that foreplay and it just gives that and I was like, ‘Okay, I can add it to the playlist.’ It vibed out for me.”
